National Ear Care Day

In 2000, China Disabled Persons’ Federation, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China and other ministries and commissions jointly determined the 3rd March to be the National Ear Care Day, and started the national publicity and educational activities on the National Ear Care Day. Over the past 20 years, such activities on the National Ear Care Day played an important role on improving awareness of the public on ear care, hearing disability prevention, and facilitating the uses of rehabilitation for hearing impairment in China.

Governments at all levels have attached great attention to the publicity and educational activities on the National Ear Care Day. So far, the number of countersigned ministries and commissions increased up to 12. As national Ear Care Day became more influential around the globe, World Health Organization determined March 3rd as World Hearing Day in 2013.
